Tag Your Quran Workshop

Introduction:

Tag Your Quran Workshop is a platform where the love of nurturing the Quran is built. It all began 6 years back when I started to learn the Quran and did the tagging on certain ayahs that I have been learning consistently during my Quran classes. Personally I’ve been developing beautiful relationship with my Quran via this tagging method. I’ve been asked around regarding it. Hence in 2017, I started my tagging workshop named formerly known as Quran Notes Marking Gathering; (QNMG). I would like to share what I have learned on a bigger platform with other sisters through my workshop.

In this workshop, I will be sharing notes that I have tagged from my personal Quran learning and classes, simple steps on how I do my Tadabbur journaling of the Quran and sharing my ways on building a relationship with Allah and the Quran. However, I would like to remind all of you that this is not a Quran verses explanation workshop. It is mainly on sharing the ways of finding your way back to the Quran and to implement them in our daily lives.

What is this workshop for?:

* To instil the motivation to the sisters out there in pursuing their intimate relationship with the Quran regardless of their background and Islamic knowledge.
* To help those who would like to start their baby steps towards the goal. I am here to help, guide and share with all of you.

What will the participants learn?:

* To learn how to tag verses in Quran systematically in a fun way.
* To learn how to do simple Tadabbur Journaling for beginners.
* To learn simple duaas from the sunnah.

Who is this workshop for?:

* This workshop is for sisters only as I want to be more closer to them in sharing my personal experiences.

How much is the fee?:

* The fee is RM250 (only for public workshop) including of class materials, notes and Tag Your Quran workshop manual.

* For Private session, price starts from RM450 for 1 pax, following with RM350 form 2 pax and above (maximum 15 pax only). This does not include lunch, it is to be prepared by hostees. Additional transportation charge applicable for venue outside Klang Valley area, and overseas. Kindly email to official.ayeshashares@gmail.com for transportation payment rate.

Venue for workshop?

* For public workshop: Venue as provided on the poster.
* For private session: Venue to be decided by students, it can be your own home, office, cafes, or any venue that is convenient to you.
*Do take note that I may charge transportation fee depending on your venue, as mentioned above.

What do I need to bring to this workshop?:

* Kindly bring along your own preferred Quran as I would want my students to engage more with their own Quran. If you don’t have any, I encourage my students to purchase their own Quran translation that you can find at the book store. My workshop is not like any other workshops as I truly want to help each and every one of you to build the best relationship with your Quran, hence getting your own favourite personal Quran would be very helpful in building this beautiful relationship with your Quran inshaallah. So, wait no longer and go for a shopping for your Quran translation.

* Invest time on finding good Quran translation and read it through few pages before you attend the workshop to start developing a better relationship with the Quran.

* If you have no idea to look for what type of Quran, below are some of my preferences as I look for Quran translation. Do take note that this is my personal preference, you are not bound follow if it doesn't meet your requirement.

1. Cover and sizes: I always prefer hard cover and A5 or A6 size as it is easy to be carried around on daily basis.

2. Paper type and colour: I always go for non-glossy type of paper and white or off white colour in colour for my Quran translation as I love it to look clean.

3. Language: I have both English and Bahasa Malaysia Quran translation, you can choose either one that suits to your liking.

4. Publication: These are some my go-to publications for Quran translation, you can check them out, Al Hidayah Publication, Pustaka Darul Iman, Karya Bestari and Saheeh International from Dakwah Corner Bookstore. Hijrah, where do I start and how do I remain steadfast?

Hijrah - One thing that almost everyone wish to do and start somewhere. Making changes to the better.

Assalamua'laykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

I'm a lil bit pumped up to start writing again this morning, probably the brand logo I just received from my designer is giving me all the courage to start writing again (alasan ya Ayesha!)

I thought I will start with the topic Hijrah. Since many of you were asking on this. Lemme share a bit which I hope is going to be helpful and beneficial.

Bismillah...

I always share about my hijrah story in my gathering, how I started, how I stumble in the process, get myself back again and how I struggle to remain steadfast (istiqomah) in the whole process, even until today, I am still struggling....

But I notice some changes I made truly gave an impact to whole a new life journey to which resulting, the person I am today.

So where do one start in their Hijrah?

There is never a one right answer, if anybody ever ask me this, my answer will always be, just start with something good. It could be anything, your hijab, your solat, Quran, sadaqah.. well practically anything (good deeds lah taw) but the main key here is your intention (niah). Always set it and do it for the sake of Allah. Never for any other reasons.

I personally started my hijrah with hijab, and after quite a while, I started praying and ever since the day I started to pray again, I will make sure that I fulfil my 5 times daily prayers. No excuses made this time around, I truly force and drag myself to the make wudhu' and stand in prayer. It was so challenging at that time, but alhamdulillah I survived. But not gonna lie, there are days (yet till today) I sometimes battle with myself to pray (or doing other good deeds), but that's life, we all struggle again and again. The most important thing is to recognise your wrong doing/mistakes and try to stand again/rebounce from every downfall.

Let me share to you one of my favourite hadith,

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassalam  said, Allah the Most High said, ‘I am as My servant thinks (expects) I am. I am with him when he mentions Me. If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself; and if he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly greater than it. If he draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to him an arm’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.’ - Sahih Al Bukhari

My fav phrase in this hadith,  "If he draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to him an arm’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed". I've never imagine a life like the one I'm having today,  but all praises due to Allah, that one duaa I made in my first prayer (went I started praying again) has lead me to so many beautiful doors and path in life. Allah truly, and literally come to me at speed coz it felt like it was just yesterday I am all lost in my own world, but Allah saved and guided me through it all to which sum up to who I am today. Alhamdulillah.

So if you feel like changing, making hijrah, here are some points that I can share:
  • Set your intention right only for His sake, keep renewing it only for His sake.
  • Give your best level to fulfil your 5 times daily prayer, this will truly help you to form a 'stronger' new you.
  • Just start somewhere with one good deeds, be it hijab, reading Quran, attending/listening to Islamic lectures.. just dot it, don't doubt yourself. Small baby steps but do it consistently.
  • If you're going to do things that is not beneficial, ask yourself, how is this thing will bring you closer to Allah?
  • Find your support system, be around people who encourage you to be better, eliminate those toxicant people that letting you down.
  • Reading helps me a lot too, so perhaps you can start reading as well
(this is all I can think of as for now)

And to remain steadfast, you need to keep on checking yourself, and renew your intention again and again. You will at some point feeling tired and overwhelmed with all this changes you've made, and that is okay coz we're all human and we break easily, but what is not okay is when you're down or drown you keep yourself in that position and not wanting to be saved or helped. We all need help, we all need Allah to help and save us, Allah is Al Wahab, The One that helps and give help. We turn to Allah good or bad for His assistance, and don't think The One who named himself As Samad (The One satisfier of every need) will let you down.

One last most important point, make duaa.. lots of duaa. Ask Allah for strength, patience, aafiyah (ease) to go through all these stages. It is never easy, but Allah will make it easy for you. Write you duaa list, read it, do your TTA (talk to Allah) as many frequent as you can, tell Him things, your worries, sadness, happy days, down moments... everything! I personally practice and write gratitude/duaa list on daily basis. I enjoy this activity so much, it really helps me to connect and strengthen my relationship with Allah. Do you practice gratitude/duaa list too? Share with me your experience, inshaallah. Let us inspire and be inspired by each other.

I guess that's all for now, need to get back to my wife duty, hehehehe. Comment below if you love this posting and let me know what are the other things you want me to share in my next post, I planning to do a video post.. let me know! Thank you. Wa'alaykumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Let's give it a try again and my 1st Youtube Video.

Bismillah..

What???! It's already 2nd of March??? I promised to myself that 2017, will be the year I'm going to start typing again on my blog but I guess, things just don't turn out that way. New year resolution failed on me, boooo! and here I am trying to start again from where I left it which erm, June 2016? lol! that was a year ago.

so, Assalamua'laykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh my dear readers.

Thank you for still taking your time to read my writing though I think this whole 1st post for 2017 will be a pointless writing. Just me typing whatever came to my mind.

Lets just recap of how the past 2 months of 2017 has been nothing but great to me. Alhamdulillah ala kulli hal. I chant to myself every morning that 2017 will be a great year for me. Despite the challenges and hiccups here and there, I guess to still be able to live under a roof, enough food to eat, and clothes to wear, I am pretty much bless with good things in life right? Tabarakaallah..

Initially, I plan to start youtube-ing again, so I posted a video in January and its lasted ermmmm only that 1 time I guess?! Well if you haven't watch my video, please do watch it below. Enjoy seeing me answering questions, and ranting over things.

Inshaallah I'm working on my 2nd video, just that I need to learn the editing skill because, Inalillah, my skill on editing is pure plain and very boring (anyone up to teach me on video editing, ermmm for FREE? lol 😂)

I guess that's all for now, not even doing any recap as I mentioned above, sorry! I have of laundry to make, and piles of clothes to be folded (wife duty calling) so I'll be back writing here tomorrow, inshaallah. Pray for me please to be istiqomah on this blogging journey.

For now, lets seat back, eat some popcorn or something, and watch my video, wassalam.

Love,
Ayesha S

Ramadhan Plan 2016

Assalamualaykum wbt.

This is my Ramadhan schedule. Sharing this because some of you were asking me about it. May this benefit all of you, bi'ithnillah.
I recommend for you to set 1 or 2 goals (if you have more, go for it) during this special month to keep on giving you the same momentum to go through Ramadhan. Think of something that you know you can really work on and achieve it. It can be very little and simple, for example:

- listen to islamic talk for 2 minutes everyday.
- memorize juz amma.
- give charity everyday even if its just RM1 or a smile the least.
- pray jamaah at the masjid at least for 1 prayer.

And the list goes on. Think of something that is achievable and you are sure you can do it!
My goals this Ramadhan are:

1. To finish the Quran in the month. My whole 26 years of living, I have yet be able to finish the Quran in month of Ramadhan because of my poor and slow recitation. But Alhamdulillah after I joined Tajweed Made Easy Academy Global course, my recitation has improved so much, so this year I must try to achieve this goal!

2. To cut down on musics and TV series (struggling)

You can add more sunnah acts as only you know your own abilities and capabilities. Strive for more and push yourself to the best limit. May Allah grant us the energy, keep on inspiring us and make it at ease for all of us, ameen.
Alhamdulillah, inshaallah this year is my 3rd Ramadhan in deen and I look forward to do more quality acts and most importantly, I pray that my acts are istiqomah and I come out from this moth a a better and upgraded person.
I pray that this Ramadhan, we received so much forgiveness from Allah and be blessed for our effort to come closer to Him, may Allah choose us to be among those that He grant His hidayah, may He accept all our duaas and keep us steadfast in our deen. May Allah increase us in knowledge and imaan, ameen.

Ramadhan Kareem my friend, I humbly seek for your forgiveness for any wrong doings, sayings and sharing and may you find a place in your heart to forgive me and others whom have wronged you.

O'Allah, I expect Your promise, You ask me to ask from You, and I know You with your power will not failed me in my duaa.
Allahuma ameen.

Just some thoughts

Everybody is different, and we come from all different walks of life. We have our own battle and struggles that makes us the person we are today.

Never belittle other people for the choices they made in life. We are all entitled to our own opinion and choices.

Agree to disagree..

Okay that's all!

P.S: I'm working on a new post, will be up soon :)

Raise your duaa

I am a firm believer of duaa. I love duaa. I love everything about duaa. It's powerful, it's the best tool a believer should hold truth. If you ever attended any of sharing sessions or my talks, you'll noticed how I keep on emphasizing about duaa and how can duaa change your life at all degree.

When I first started my hijraa many years back, I remember the duaa I made that brought me to tears badly. I was asking Allah to guide me because I was felt so hopeless and helpless at that time. I still remember the exact words I said while making duaa to Allah. After placing my duaa at that time, I felt relieved, protected and heard. It was one amazing feeling that I can hardly put into words.

Alhamdulillah, now we are entering the last 10 nights of Ramadhan, it is the perfect time to make extra lengthy duaa with full of hopes. Make duaa that Allah choose us to wake up for tahajjud in the last third of the night, before having suhoor. That is the perfect time to unleash all of you duaas to Allah SWT. Allah in His Glory descends to the lower heavens to listen to those who call upon Him. Mashaallah, amazing right?!

Quote by Imam Shafie rahimulallah

I would like to share with you some key points about duaa that I learned from my teachers and classes online. All these lessons has given me a whole new perspective about duaa. I no longer make duaa just for the sake of making duaa. I see duaa as an opportunity to talk to Allah, tell Him stories and the One I hang on to all my hopes, dreams and desires. Duaa shouldn't be the spare wheel that you pull when you need it, duaa itself is the steering wheel of life, that will direct you to the right destination.

So here it goes:

1. Make duaa to Allah at any time in any condition. There is no restriction in making duaa to Allah, we ask and He provides.

2. Make a list of your duaa, internalise your duaa and compose it. This is to help you asking for the same thing until your duaa is accepted. Make sure you pick few names of Allah and put it into your duaas.

3. Milestone your duaas visually. Visualize it, if possible print pictures, make slide shows of what your duaa is about.

4. Make duaa that will benefit you both in dhunia and akhirah.

5. Make your duaa habit. Here are some list of time you can start your daily duaa habit

  • in sajdah
  • at end of salaah
  • at adhan
  • between adhan and iqamah
  • immediately after wudhu'
  • duaa throughout day of fasting
  • at time of iftar
  • in the middle of the night
  • third portion of the night
  • when waking up at night
  • Friday afternoon duaa days
  • while traveling
  • whilst drinking zam zam

6. Ask Allah plentiful of things, be specific of what you want. Don't make it general. Allah is Al Karem, He gives to whoever He wants.

7. Avoid sinning.

8. Always be positive and stop complaining.

9. Always be thankful to Allah for duaa response, either it is good or bad, just be thankful.

10. Make best duaa for others as well.

"And your Lord says: Call upon me (ask me) and I will answer you"
Surah Ghafir, ayaah 60

I love this verse so much! Its very powerful, positive  inspiring and hopeful indeed. I remember seating in Sh.Yawar's class during LEC and he talked about this. He said, "this is the promise of Allah in the Quran, and Allah never failed to fulfil His promises. So ask, don't doubt in Allah". Allahuakbar! Beautiful right?

Don't be shameful to ask because you think you've sinned so much and you don't deserve to ask Allah for anything. Pray, make tawbah and ask Allah to guide you. Allah loves those who cry to Him, beg Him and ask from Him.

I hope this entry helps, and give you some idea and also inspire you to keep on making duaa. May we all reach the night of laylatul qadr, ameen.

I pray that all your duaas are granted and hopefully we come out from this month of Ramadhan as a better person. Allahuma ameen.

That's my duaa list (printed in A4 paper)
Very lengthy because I have so much to ask from Allah

Back! Again

Assalamualaikum wbt

It has been a while, and today I feel like blogging again.

I've reverted all my older post to draft and will edit it again from time to time and publish it back. I am not sure what to share or write but all I feel like doing one.

For now I am sharing lots of my thoughts on my instagram account but I have some issue with them, I can't explain or write more than I do now because they allow limited captions (total bore). So with that, I am back here.

Trust me, this "inspiration" to want to start blogging again come once in a blue moon. The momentum to keep on blogging is hard to maintain, but the least I could do is to try.

Buckle up, keep calm and start reading my blog again.

May you benefit from it, may Allah SWT accept from us, ameen.
